Our doctors are specially trained dentists who are considered “out-of-network” providers for treating Sleep Apnea. Many individual policies do have out-of-network benefits regarding the treatment of Sleep Apnea however, all patients that come in to our office will pay out of pocket for services rendered.
We submit claims to medical insurance companies in attempt to get reimbursement for our patients. Most insurance companies should pay a percentage towards treatment if the patient has been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea. Insurance companies prefer that the patient has been referred to our office by a regular dentist or physician and has been officially diagnosed with Sleep Apnea, via sleep study. If you need assistance obtaining a sleep study, please contact our office, your primary care physician or your general dentist.
Contacting the insurance company regarding individual benefits:
- Inquire about out-of-network coverage for alternative (oral appliance) treatment for Sleep Apnea.
- Inquire about prior authorizations needed before coming in for consultation and treatment.
- Inquire about a separate out-of-network deductible that may need to be met.
- Specific billing codes:
- Initial Consultation 99243

Please note; we are able to treat snoring but, it is considered a cosmetic treatment and will not be covered by insurance.
